Fractions game – educational game
Fraction comparison game.
2 boards – each 25cm x 25cm; circles are 9cm in diameter; squares are 9cm x 9cm.
The squares and circles contain segment pieces that can be removed and moved around to compare different fractions.
Four circles divided in segments of 2,3,6 and 8.
By putting two halves on top of three thirds, a child can see that the value is the same.
By putting 4/8’s on top of 3/6’s, a child can see that 4/8 are the same as 3/6.
Can see that 8/8 and 4/4 and 2/2 and 3/3 all make one circle.
Basically by comparing circles and putting pieces on top of one another kids learn value of fractions and how they compare.
Similarly on the other board there are 4 squares, in segments of 2, 3, 4 and 6 (in other words TWO halves, THREE thirds, FOUR quarters and SIX sixths).
